Sign the global petition for an Internationally Supervised Vote in West Papua

In August 2017 six people will swim 69 kms across Lake Geneva, to hand deliver a global petition requesting the UN to urgently address the human rights situation in West Papua, directly to the UN headquarters. This is our campaign to Free West Papua, and we hope you will join us. #BackTheSwim & #LetWestPapuaVote

This petition calls on the UN to appoint a Special Representative to investigate the human rights situation in West Papua; & put West Papua back on the Decolonisation Committee agenda by holding an internationally supervised vote. The petition is paramount in the struggle for independence for West Papua, as the vote will finally give West Papuans the opportunity to decide on their own future, a vote they were denied in 1969, and a vote that will finally put an end to the genocide.

@BackTheSwim & #LetWestPapuaVote

This grassroots petition is being signed and shared around the world in solidarity with the people of West Papua and their struggle for freedom. After collecting tens of thousands of signatures worldwide, the completed petition will be swum 69 kilometres across Lake Geneva in August 2017, and handed straight to the United Nations. This could be the mechanism to get West Papua back on to the UN’s agenda, so please make sure you sign and share it as widely as possible. Together, we can help the voice of the West Papuan people to be heard by the people who have the power to put an end to this genocide.

What to do:

The time is now. We have until August to collect all of the names of those that support West Papua’s call for self-determination, and to show the UN and world leaders, that we the International Community call on them to correct the mistakes of the past and Let West Papua Vote!
