June 13, 2020
Yesterday West Papuan Independence Leader Benny Wenda the Chairman of The United Liberation Movement for West Papua – ULMWP spoke at the #BlackLivesMatter rally in London, UK about West Papua’s freedom struggle.
“I’m here exiled, Indonesia put me 25 years in prison just for standing up, fighting for justice and freedom for my people. Just like Nelson Mandela, Martin Lither King, Marcus Garvey, Steve Biko. Those are my heroes!”
“West Papua is fighting colonialism for 57 years. 57 Years is long enough. I need brothers and sisters from across the world. We need peace. We need peace, we need justice. We need justice. Free the Black people in New Guinea”.
Many thanks to all those who helped to organise this Black Lives Matter rally and gave space for Benny Wenda to speak about West Papua.
